British pharmacy packaging provider Valley Northern has been awarded national registration for UK design of its printed medicine tablet carton range, ProBox.
The company claims it is now the only UK supplier of branded pharmacy design printed tablet cartons.
In 2014, over 1,050 million prescription items were dispensed, a 55.2 per cent increase since 2004. However, with government funding for pharmacies changing to a performance-based model, pharmacies across the UK are under increasing pressure.
“Our ProBox carton design clearly indicates that the box contains NHS prescription medication, meaning patients can easily distinguish it from other over the counter medicines or generic packaging,” said Oliver Pittock, managing director of Valley Northern.

The ProBox tablet carton range is designed with a pre-defined space for administrative and storage guideline labels as well as strong lock-ends that reduce the risk of medication falling out and being lost.
