Medical Taiwan - the International Medical, Health and Care Exhibition hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will return in June this year with both an in-person and virtual exhibition.
Seven exhibition areas will cover everything relating to healthcare industry production and supply chains, from upstream raw materials to downstream medical devices and products. The show will also serve as a cross-sector exchange and trading platform that showcases what’s new in technology, textiles, sports, and healthcare, while bringing wholesalers, distributors, procurement specialists and medical practitioners together.
Due to ongoing travel restrictions, Medical Taiwan 2022 has launched two main hybrid plans for exhibitors: a Long-Distance Exhibition Plan and the DigitalGO Marketing Plan. Overseas exhibitors who sign up for the Long-Distance Exhibition Plan will be assigned representatives by the organiser to help with booth and e-meeting equipment set-up, meet-and-greets with potential clients, and exchanging contact information. Exhibiting remotely will not only save time on international travel, but also facilitate business opportunities and exchanges.
An increasing awareness of health and population ageing are putting health issues in the limelight, ushering in new business opportunities for the healthcare industry at the same time. At-home, small and simple testing devices are particularly on the rise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas the integration of IoT streaming data, artificial intelligence and big data make preliminary diagnosis that used to only be available in hospitals also possible in the home and in the community, bringing us one step closer to the world of telemedicine.
It has become a must in the medical industry to speed up the pace of digital transformation and establish innovative business models to pursue precision medicine and highly-efficient medical practices. With IT technologies and a wealth of experience in healthcare and medical device manufacturing, Taiwan is working to further the progress of medical technology by putting the two together. Taiwan is projected to be a super-aged society by 2025, and the increasing demand for elderly care is expected to expand the market size of medical devices, smart healthcare, and telemedicine.
