Specialty chemicals company Clariant has announced a 3D printing business for premium and customised 3D printer filaments.

Clariant state that its new business leverages the company’s experience in tailoring polymers for end market applications with pigments, additives and masterbatches, to provide high-grade, 3D printer filaments and specially made solutions.
Clariant uses 3D printing to test all of its materials to ensure printability and a consistent level of quality. Products manufactured using 3D printing include end-use parts such as air ducts, drones, lights, and parts for manufacturing equipment. These products can be enhanced with tailored high quality and ready-to-print materials that can withstand the wear and tear of prolonged usage.
Clariant will offer tailored materials, as well as a portfolio of high quality standard material. The 3D printed materials offered by Clariant will be available in flexible lot sizes to meet customer specifications.
