Med-Tech Innovation Expo to draw an international audience

Med-Tech Innovation Expo, which takes place in Coventry this week is attracting a growing number of international visitors to the UK market.

The international trade team from the City of Mentor, Ohio is visiting the Med-Tech Innovation Expo for the first time. One of Mentor’s success stories, Steris (Stand D41), a specialist in contract sterilisation and microbial reduction services, has been attending Med-Tech Innovation Expo for several years.

The Mentor biomedical cluster is part of a broader cluster of over 700 biomedical companies in North East Ohio that has grown up around the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic and associated hospitals. The City of Mentor is located on the shores of Lake Erie just a 20 minute drive from downtown Cleveland. Mentor is home to over 325 manufacturing companies engaged in diverse activities including aerospace, advanced manufacturing, micro-machining, chemicals and polymers, precision coatings, advanced electronics and instrumentation, and medical imaging.

The City of Mentor is keen to encourage trade and investment with the UK, especially in the biomedical sector. An inbound trade mission to Mentor is planned for October this year, which will include a full day at the Cleveland Clinic’s 16th Medical Innovation Summit.
