Liverpool-based DAM Health targets expanded diagnostics footprint

DAM Health has entered 2022 with over 1 million government-approved in-clinic PCR and antigen tests now conducted across the UK with the public and private sector.

Having started in COVID-19 testing, this year will see DAM Health expand further in the wider world of medical diagnostics, heralding a pivotal period of change.

Led by Professor Frank Joseph, DAM Health’s medical director, the company started from its first laboratory on Rose Lane and a handful of employees in November 2020 to now over 1,000 staff. This workforce continues to rise by the day across over 100 clinics in the UK and internationally and 12 labs in total.

With its HQ proudly based at The Spine in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, the next 12 months will see DAM Health evolve into a leading centre of medical science and innovation, working with the next generation of scientific and medical minds through some bold initiatives including the Student Excellence Award with the Pandemic Institute and the virtual COVID-19 lab with Credersi. And over the Christmas period, DAM Health donated £50,000 to a range of children’s charities across the UK.

Professor Joseph said: “2021 was truly a remarkable year for DAM Health and we now aim to realise some major ambitions in 2022 and become a bastion of medical excellence. Reaching one million in-clinic tests is incredible – from all our customers who have travelled and been able to see loved ones again around the world to us helping business sectors recover and large-scale events and sports happen again - it’s a remarkable moment.

“The key tenets of our testing services remain the same – we provide in-clinic testing from trained clinicians and medical staff for those who want greater peace of mind and efficacy with their results instead of using self-administered home tests.

“But now I ask myself – who else can we help? Where else can we use our expertise? Our vision is to now embark on pioneering projects across an array of illnesses, conditions, and enhanced health awareness on top of what we already do with COVID-19. The wider medical diagnostic world is where we have set our sights and there is lots of important work happening in the background already - we have evolved with the pandemic and are looking to now innovate beyond it with some very exciting news coming soon.

“In addition to this, we are already working with the Pandemic Institute to help find the brilliant young minds studying in our universities in Liverpool and our ongoing work with Credersi and their incredible virtual lab.”

The medical diagnostics company is a COVID-19 test provider that has partnered with Health Passport Worldwide and it has growing operations in Mexico and Spain with more global expansion planned throughout the year.

DAM Health is also a provider of event, sport and business testing including Rangers FC Football Club, Crystal Palace Football Club and Scottish Rugby.
