SureScreen Diagnostics, based at Sherwood Park, Annesley, Nottinghamshire, has been announced as the 2023 UK Life Sciences Innovator Category Winner in Diagnostics and Precision Medicine, which will help the company to showcase its products and services at exhibitions across the globe this year.

The DIT, which specialises in inward investment into the UK and helping UK firms succeed in global trade, launched the showcase at the Arab Health in Dubai.

SureScreen has produced lateral flow tests (LFTs) for more than 25 years and already exports to many countries. It is estimated that a SureScreen kit is used somewhere in Europe every two seconds and the company is actively seeking new sales territories, as part of its belief in being able to give patients the ability to seek an early and accurate diagnosis rather than waiting for problems to arise, a pro-active approach which will save countries’ healthcare systems time and money.

And with recent investment into a new high-tech manufacturing facility and new innovations in the R&D pipeline, the company believes it is better placed than ever to increase its export activity.

David Campbell, a director of SureScreen, said: “We are hugely honoured to have been recognised as one of the most innovative companies in our sector, especially given how many exceptional biomedical science companies there are across the UK.

“We believe this recognition will help us boost our exports over the coming months and help people across the world with accurate, quick and cost-effective diagnostics. We look forward to showcasing our products and flying the flag for UK science in new territories.

“DIT has always been incredibly helpful and supportive of SureScreen and we would recommend other companies engage and work with DIT as its expertise can be invaluable, especially when exporting to new markets.”

Founded in Derby in 1996, SureScreen has been manufacturing LFTs for more than 25 years and recent developments include tests searching for Flu, COVID and RSV, Strep A and M-Pox.

It also supplies tests for other applications, including drug and alcohol detection and fertility screening.
