SureScreen Diagnostics wins two King's Awards for Enterprise

The director of a UK manufacturer of diagnostic tests has paid tribute to the team’s hard work and innovation after it was announced as a winner of two King’s Awards for Enterprise.

David Campbell was speaking after SureScreen Diagnostics was named as one of the first companies to be awarded two King’s Awards, with recognition coming in the Innovation and International Trade categories.

SureScreen earned the awards for its work in recent years, when it created, manufactured, and exported millions of ground-breaking lateral flow tests for the UK and healthcare providers in around 60 countries worldwide.

In particular, its COVID-19 antigen lateral flow tests, developed at the height of the pandemic, were the first European tests to pass the validation process in the laboratory by Public Health England.

As a result, they become a vital part of the UK Government’s rapid testing programme and were also exported to help other countries tackle the pandemic overseas.

SureScreen has been manufacturing LFTs since it was founded in 1996 and recent developments include rapid tests for Flu, COVID, Strep A and M-Pox. It also manufacturers tests for other applications, including drug and alcohol detection and fertility screening.
