ABHI teams up with news team to explore the impact of technology on healthcare services

New programme, Transforming Healthcare, explores the impact health technology has on global health

The Association of British HealthTech Industries and ITN Productions Industry News have co-produced a news and current affairs-style programme, Transforming Healthcare, exploring the healthtech sector and how technology is transforming the way our health services are delivered.

The NHS currently spends approximately £5.5 billion on goods and associated operating costs each year.[1] Transforming Healthcare showcases the technological advances that are accelerating the digital future of health across the UK and providing a vital source of saving and new treatment methods.

Presented by Natasha Kaplinsky, OBE, the programme demonstrates the latest cancer diagnosis technology enabling earlier, more accurate and cost-effective detection and the mobile IV treatments helping patients maintain their independence. The programme also explains the importance of the procurement process and regulation in ensuring patient safety.

Phillip Kennedy, chair, ABHI said: “healthtech is integral to the delivery of modern healthcare and the chances are it will touch all our lives at some point. It delivers better patient outcomes and is central to efficiency improvements across healthcare systems. We are therefore delighted to have partnered with ITN Productions, to utilise their exceptional broadcast capabilities, and showcase the impact of our sector.”

Vicki Clubley, head of ITN Productions Industry News, said: “We’re really excited by the opportunity to work with ABHI to create a great programme that highlights the latest developments in HealthTech which are transforming healthcare not just in the UK but globally.”

The programme will premiere at the Meeting with the Austin Healthcare Council in Texas on Thursday 26 September 2019 and will also be shown at a private dinner and drinks reception in London on Thursday 5 December 2019 to an audience of leading healthcare professionals.  The programme combines key industry interviews, reports and partner sponsored editorial case studies and news-style reports from the following leading organisations and industry experts which showcase the vital work being done to create a healthier future for all:
