Danish firm launches new battery for blood and IV warming device

Danish medtech player MEQU has launched its new battery, Power Pack for the compact blood and IV fluid warming device – M Warmer System.

The M Warmer System is a compact portable blood and IV fluid warming device that is widely used in prehospital emergency settings, such as rescue helicopters, ambulances, rapid response vehicles. The M Warmer System has also sold to special forces and/or military in the US, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark. The device allows for blood transfusions at the point of injury even if it takes place in remote areas or battlefields.

Ulrik Krogh Andersen, CEO, said: “We are pleased to announce the official launch of our new battery, Power Pack⁺, which has more than one third increased capacity compared to the current Power Pack. This means, with Power Pack⁺, two liters of cold blood (5˚C) can be warmed up and infused to a patient on a single charge of the battery. It is truly a meaningful development as this is a step forward to further increasing the survival rate of trauma patients who suffer from hypothermia and bleeding.”

M Warmer offers setup with a warm-up time of less than 10 seconds and efficient warming capacities of 150 ml per minute. On top of its patented technology, M Warmer was awarded The Red Dot Design Award in 2018 for its minimalistic and user-friendly expression. Weighing 760 - 820 grams, its compact and simple design allows for intuitive and instant use in critical trauma situations.
