Digital health company launches COVID-19 care assistant
Digital health company Babylon has launched a new care assistant that is designed to help patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service provides information and care for patients according to their need, allocating doctors’ time to the patients who need it most.
Patients can check their symptoms, track their illness, chat with trained staff and consult doctors, with the tool also hoped to help people cope with self isolation.
The COVID-19 Care Assistant helps patients with each step:
- Inform - continually-updated information and videos to help people as they self-isolate, care for others and minimise contamination
- Decide - symptom checker that provides information on possible next steps to be taken, including around self-isolation
- Connect - 24/7 live chat with a trained Babylon team member to discuss COVID-19 concerns and receive information
- Monitor - daily in-app logging of symptoms, with informational care plans based on the latest guidance
- Consult - virtual consultations for those who need them
- Refer - swift referral to hospital care when needed
