Fluid engineering firm to unveil suite of products at Compamed & Medica

IMI Precision Engineering is to unveil a new suite of products designed to improve efficiencies in the medical device and medtech industry at this year’s Compamed and Medica.

Products miniature solenoid valves, rotary valves, pinch valves, syringe pumps, sub-assemblies all custom-designed to meet the performance requirements of medical device and diagnostic instrumentation applications.

Visitors will see the IMI FAS CHIPREG, the company’s first miniature mass flow controller (MFC), designed to precisely control low flow rates (0 to 0.5 sl/min) or higher flow rate (0 to 10sl/min).

Manufactured under ISO 13485, CHIPREG can be integrated into medical devices such as ventilation gas blenders or plasma surgery devices. Based on IMI FAS’s 8 mm CHIPPROP, CHIPREG is the result of IMI’s 20+ years of experience in fluidics, electronics miniaturisation and integration.

The Cadent 6 is a syringe pump to incorporate into a range of life science applications requiring accuracy in low or high-flow configurations, high-force, and industry-leading long-life performance.

The pump is ideally suited when flow control is critical for sample injection in cell-based assay systems, bioprocessing scale-up or scale-down, flow cytometry, haematology, invitro-diagnostics, or sample preparation. In addition to the Cadent 6, the Cadent 3 syringe pump features a small footprint, and like the Cadent 6 syringe pump, its smart advanced control makes it easy to integrate into customer system design.

The Cadent 3 syringe pump delivers outstanding fluid performance for low-flow stability. Cadent 3 is supported by a wide range of valves and syringes for long-life control and reliability.

IMI Precision Engineering has designed the IP4000 with the aim of meeting customer requirements for Positive Displacement Inline Pumps.

The company will also launch its IMI FAS Microsol MS-E, a media separated valve for aggressive and sensitive media. In an industry where product performance cannot be compromised, IMI FAS Microsol MS-E has been designed to fulfil customer’s technical expectations and challenging cost requirements in medical device and diagnostic applications.

Ideal for disposable sterile tubing or membrane bags used throughout medical devices, the new 200-series IMI Norgren Acro Pinch valves aim to offer maximum flexibility, performance and value in life science applications where heat generation needs to be avoided.

Speaking ahead of the show, Fabrizio Maspero, product marketing manager at IMI Precision Engineering, said: “As a long-standing manufacturer within the medical device industry, we are committed to developing new products which meet the challenging, and bespoke requirements of the sector. We’re delighted to be launching several products at this year’s MEDICA trade fair.

“Throughout the show, our team of fluidic experts will also be on hand to share their knowledge on IMI FAS and IMI Norgren product ranges and how to solve technical issues with affordable solutions.”
