Formlabs launches new medical-grade resins

3D printing company Formlabs has announced two new biocompatible, medical-grade resins for the healthcare industry.

In diversifying the medical resins available to the healthcare community, it’s hoped these new BioMed resins will enable researchers, surgeons, radiologists, and beyond to provide patients with personalised, precision healthcare.

Diversifying the types of medical resins can help healthcare professionals with important tasks including: creating medical devices, planning surgical procedures, developing custom implants, and conducting research.

BioMed Clear Resin is a resin for biocompatible applications requiring long-term skin or mucosal membrane contact.

This USP Class VI certified material is suitable for applications that require wear resistance and low water absorption over time. Parts printed with BioMed Clear Resin are compatible with common sterilisation methods and can be sterilised to CDC standards.
