Immersive app launched to provide credible health information

Cognitant Group, a specialist in immersive healthcare technology, has launched the Healthinote app + QR Code to provide access to credible, usable and verified health information.

Using immersive content such as virtual reality (VR), it aims to help patients better understand their conditions and treatment options. Content at launch includes verified and up-to-date information on the COVID-19 pandemic as the app aims to tackle the misinformation available online.

The app features more than 1,100 health ‘A-Z’ articles from the NHS.uk official website. Content is also delivered in partnership with pharma, charitable organisation and leading universities. Notable partners include Bayer, Pfizer, UCB, NHS England, NHS Improvement and The Health Foundation among others.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, patients are continuously seeking guidance from a wide variety of sources - often with confusing or conflicting results. Misinformation is often responsible for poor healthcare outcomes can lead to unnecessary pressures on medical professionals.

As well as text information from the NHS, the platform features immersive 3D and virtual reality (VR) content to help patients visually understand their symptoms, health conditions, and treatments. All content can be prescribed to patients by their healthcare professional at the point of care, giving patients confidence that the information is trusted and relevant to them.
