Medilink North develops MediPath Innovation Roadmap

To help organisations in the healthcare sector plan their innovation journey, Medilink has developed the MediPath Innovation Roadmap, which is designed to reduce the level of risk involved in this process, accelerate speed to market of the device or service, and increase the likelihood of a successful outcome.

For every healthcare innovation successfully launched and commercialised, there are many that do not achieve this goal. That is why it is so important for companies to plot their innovation course precisely, taking into consideration all key actions, requirements and milestones in order to maximise the probability of market success.

The six-stage approach offered by MediPath includes details of the necessary technical, clinical, regulatory and commercial activity required to take a product or service to market, together with associated resources, costs and timescales.

Medilink’s head of innovation, Dr Patrick Trotter said: “We have created MediPath to help companies give full consideration to every stage of the commercialisation process, from ensuring that the market opportunity is viable, that the device will gain regulatory approval, and, that the predicted financial return can be achieved. The flexibility of this tool also means that it can be used by organisations, no matter where they are on their innovation journey, to validate their existing development plan, identify potential weaknesses and make any necessary adjustments to improve the probability of success.”

To coincide with the launch Medilink’s team of innovation, commercialisation and regulatory experts have announced a new service in which they guide companies through the MediPath Roadmap to demonstrate how it can be used to de-risk healthcare innovations and help realise their full potential.
