Lockdown videos demonstrate new techniques for test samples

Struers team has produced a series of lockdown videos demonstrating Struers equipment and new materialography techniques in preparing test samples.

The Rotherham-based team established the series while adapting to new ways of working during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The series aims to assist manufacturing companies as they return to greater production levels.

Individuals in the manufacturing industry analysing metals and materials can access the free step by step videos for equipment advice and new process methods. The new techniques illustrate how to reduce time spent on preparing samples at every stage and will remove unnecessary elements from procedures. Struers provide additional advice using a new live calling service to review sample preparation methods.

The first video is now live on Struers YouTube page (and above) with more in production stages its team, with more videos to follow.

Matthew Caudwell, application specialist, said: “I’m delighted with the videos and the process of learning how to capture and prepare the laboratory for these together with the sales team. We have had no earlier experience in filming or editing, so this has been a steep learning curve which we have all enjoyed."

Lee Cobb, managing director at Struers Limited, added: “I’m delighted with these videos and proud of the team for embracing new ways of working. We can now offer live video calls which have been well received by the materialography community.”
