MD&M East unveils conference lineup

The lineup for this year’s three-day Medical Design and Manufacturing (MD&M) East Conference has been announced.

The event, which takes place on 13-15 June at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York, will feature many of the medtech industry’s most influential thought leaders and will cover a host of important and relevant topics.

Nina Brown, vice president, events at UBM said: “The 2017 MD&M East Conference lineup is one of the most detailed and expansive offerings to date, with a focus on relevant technologies of today and future trends. UBM consistently provides opportunities to learn and share information about emerging and expanding medical technologies from the top influencers in the field."

The three-day conference features two tracks in Design and Product Development featuring presentations, panels, demonstrations and case studies. This year's lineup includes speakers from Johnson and Johnson Medical Device Companies, Battelle, Bristol-Meyers Squibb, Dexcom, Galen Robotics, Hologic, IBM Watson, Medtronic, MannKind Corporation, Medtronic and more.

Speakers from the event include Lia Pender of R&D, Dexcom, who will discuss the development of the artificial pancreas and the closed-loop systems and algorithms behind these devices. Bruce Lichorowic, CEO of Galen Robotics Galen Robotics will discuss advances in surgical robotic whilst Medtronic’s Drew Seils will talk about how the company developed its new Signia Powered Stapling System.
