Medilink West Midlands awards to celebrate 'best of the best'

Medilink West Midlands will host its annual Medical and Healthcare Business Awards on Thursday 13 February 2020.

The awards will celebrate the 'best of the best’ in the life sciences, healthcare and medtech community.

The awards are set to take place at The Burlington Hotel, Birmingham and will recognise organisations, who have excelled in different areas, including Start-up, Export, Delivering Innovation in to Health and Care, Innovation and Outstanding Achievement.

Richard Stone, CEO at Medilink West Midlands, said: “This is our 18th year supporting the life sciences, healthcare and med-tech community and our awards are a way to showcase the regions success of high-level businesses who have demonstrated ambition, determination and positive change to healthcare.

“It’s a privilege to work amongst a world class innovation structure with effective, strong partnerships between industry, academia and the NHS which gives West Midlands businesses more opportunities for growth and development.

“I’d like to encourage as many businesses as possible to consider entering our awards, to allow us to shout about their successes and give them the recognition they deserve. Not only are they in the spotlight on the night of the awards but throughout the lead up to the Medilink UK awards in April, which is in association with Med-Tech Innovation Expo."

Medical equipment manufacturer Kimal, based in Bromsgrove, were crowned Medilink 2019 winners in the ‘Outstanding Achievement' category.

Steve Minett, project manager medical devices R&D at Kimal, said: “We were proud to win the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ at last year’s awards. They are important to Kimal because they come from our peers and show how serious the company is when bringing its products to the market. At Kimal there is a desire to improve patient safety through continuous product innovation and to improve continuously all aspects of the products and services we provide to our worldwide customer base; we are proud of our achievements and are humbled when we receive such recognition as from the Medilink awards.”

The winners of the regional awards will go on to be shortlisted for Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards, with the chance to be crowned national winners. The ceremony is set to take place on 1 April 2020 at the NEC in Birmingham.
