Benvic ModenPlast has been established in medical tubing technology and related world markets for decades. The company will now become the springboard for Benvic’s across-the-board expertise in medical compounding and applications.

Benvic Modenplast, together with Benvic Luc & Bel will now develop new and integrated solutions for global medical systems; systems that are composed of new polymer compounds and products processed from the same.

Luc Mertens, Benvic CEO said: “The strategy is to build a vertically integrated medical division that delivers sustainable value to the evolving medical sector, that integrates with the rest of our group and – not least – delivers real environmental and social value.”

Prior to acquisition, ModenPlast was already its own producer of PVC raw materials. Benvic’s ownership has injected new synergies between Modenplast medical compounds and their applications and the Benvic strengths in logistics and formulation knowhow. As well as PVC-based products Benvic ModenPlast handles various other polymers for extrusion – including PE, TPU, TPE, and EVA.

Benvic ModenPlast provides a range of tubing for the global medical market – lay flat coiled, cut and pre-cut. These options address various needs which can be advanced by an integrated process, from compounds to extrusion.

Michele Brambilla, Benvic Modenplast general manager, said: “We are able to meet various compounding formulations in order to address major required usages. We have a very long and successful track record in handling the European Pharmacopoeia market; our know-how here has been developed for over 50 years, and our quality systems also allow us to be recognized as a valued supplier in the global medical supplies market.”

Aside from compound technology, the company’s tubing production in a cleanroom Class VIII is able to meet the medical industry’s expectations confirmed by ISO13485 certification. The product range covers many types of configuration and the operation has an agile structure fit for specific customer demands and custom-made solutions for niche products and also for low production run volumes.

Benvic ModenPlast also has a Northern Italian location that is host to a variety of medical businesses. The company is ahead of the curve on global medical regulatory affairs and is a key user of the laboratories used by the Italian Biomedical Hub.

Benvic Medical is set to unveil some of the ModenPlast and Luc & Bel medical technology at Medica Compamed, Düsseldorf, November 15-18, 2021.

Benvic’s acquisition of Italian medical plastics processors, Modenplast (2019) and Luc & Bell (2020) have created Benvic Medical - a forward integrated polymer company, supplying extruded and injection moulded medical products and devices as well as medical grades of polymer for the production of same.
