Oxford smart glasses firm introduces products to Ireland

Digital smart glasses developer Oxsight is travelling around Ireland to raise awareness of its solution.

Following a successful trip in early November to introduce the products, Oxsight is now making plans to scale Ireland for an extended roadshow.

The Company launched its first products – the Oxsight Prism and Oxsight Crystal – in 2018 and is currently rolling the solution out across the world.

Rakesh Roshan, CEO of Oxsight, said: “It is a tremendous honour for Oxsight to be in a position to offer the solutions to those in Ireland and we are overwhelmed by the generous support given. We have a strong sense of community so we want to use this opportunity to give back and help as many people as we can.”

The glasses use software to enhance the remaining sight of people living with peripheral vision loss caused by degenerative diseases such as myopic degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity and vision loss caused by stroke.

The products have been awarded “Tried and Tested” certification by the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), providing independent validation of the benefits offered by its ground-breaking technology

Andrew McBride, a retinitis pigmentosa patient, said: “They’re life-changing. I had actually forgotten how much sight I had lost until I looked at the world through Oxsight, I could see my wife, my daughters, colours and so much more."
