TLM Laser expands with IPG partnership agreement

UK-based TLM Laser has announced a partnership agreement with IPG Photonics, a developer and manufacturer of high-performance fibre lasers.

TLM Laser will be responsible for the sales, marketing, installation and servicing of IPG’s comprehensive range of laser cutting and welding systems throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

TLM said in a statement that it “already has the technical and application expertise required to seamlessly integrate this new product range”.

The IPG laser cutting and welding systems complement the existing range of laser marking, welding, engraving, cladding and hardening systems available currently from TLM Laser, the group said.

TLM Laser director Andy Toms said: “We are delighted to be representing IPG Photonics, and this additional and complementary range of laser cutting and welding systems will open up new opportunities for us within a number of sectors including medical, automotive and aerospace”.

One of the new range of systems which TLM will now be promoting is the LaserCube, a compact fibre laser cutting platform, which the group claims “delivers superior cutting performance combined with low operating costs”. Other products which will now be available from TLM include IPG’s range of multi-axis laser welding systems.

IPG Photonics sales manager Steve Ingram said: “TLM Laser are the ideal partner for us within the UK and Ireland. They are highly respected for their technical expertise, market knowledge and pro-active approach to customer support and service. We look forward to working with them in developing this partnership.”
