Lohmann Technologies Medical Division is launching a new surgical tape at this year’s Med-Tech Innovation Expo.
DuploMED SUR 624000 has been designed, developed, trialled and tested at Lohmann’s European R&D Centre at Neuwied, Germany, and with effect from its first UK appearance at Med-Tech Innovation will be readily available from the company’s Milton Keynes manufacturing base.
Although designed specifically for incision film applications, the new tape is also suitable for other skin fixation applications including wound care and diagnostics. DuploMED SUR 62400 is a transparent polyurethane film which has been coated with a medical-grade, pressure sensitive adhesive specially developed for use in the medical sector. It can be supplied with or without a polyethylene support film on the non-coated film side and is available in a range of sizes and shapes.
Featuring an acrylic adhesive, DuploMED 62400 is stated to offer excellent initial tack, ensuring no movement during surgery, and also enhances patient comfort by having high elasticity and good contour-following characteristics.
Lohmann’s complete range may be seen and discussed on the company’s stand at Med-Tech Innovation on 15-16 May.
Lohmann’s medical sector industry manager Mel Fox said: “The company has specialised in the design and manufacture of medical tapes for more than 150 years, and this new innovation complements a range that continues to be extremely popular with frontline staff for its excellent performance, with patients for its comfort, and with procurement staff for its excellent value.”
