Full turnkey project delivery
Medical devices industry - order to extend cleanroom originally designed and installed by them in 2009
The project requirement was to extend an existing facility built in 2009. The facility was originally designed to be extended and the AHU and associated equipment sized accordingly.
Existing materials were matched so that the final installation will seamlessly link old and new into one 1200m² Cleanroom. All new works were carried out including ductwork and new terminal HEPA filters, in readiness for the removal of original dividing wall to open up the total area. The client’s request for full walk-on capability over the ceiling area was met with the latest design energy efficient LED lighting units.
Nigel Sainsbury, sales and operations manager who led the project, said: “The original facility had been operational for over 10 years with only normal maintenance required over that period. Testament to our product selection and in particular the client’s maintenance of the facility, it looked only a year or so old. The Client was confident in our ability to carry out the works on the extension whilst maintaining his important NHS-related production in place until the latest possible time.
With specific H&S requirements and with our own in-house H&S manager we were able to carry out and manage these works safely and on programme.”
