As Europe braces for the effects of Brexit, including higher customs duties, long delays and greater uncertainties, ISS Europe 2020 will bring together leading executives, analysts, researchers, economists, and technologists shaping the electronics manufacturing supply chain to discuss and highlight the opportunities to develop the technology, products and services needed to meet Europe´s collective socio-economic and sustainability goals.
Hosted by SEMI Europe, the three-day event this year focuses on how technology can secure solutions to future global challenges, how to foster strategic progress in key technology areas essential for European competitiveness and security, and the importance of collaborative innovation. The symposium will start with the executive panel “Innovations Strengthening European Sovereignty in the Digital Economy”. The role of talent, mentorship, diversity and inclusion in nurturing the semiconductor industry growth will also be discussed to illustrate how we can build on European talent and capabilities.
Laith Altimime, president of SEMI Europe, said: “Europe lies at the core of developing strategies for global competition, trends in electronics innovation and the development of the digital economy. Partnerships between RTOs, corporations, SMEs, academia and government are crucial to create innovative technology and exploitation ecosystem. ISS Europe is the prime forum for identifying extensive networking and collaboration opportunities to maximise competitive advantage in the digital economy”.
Leading organisations presenting at ISS Europe 2020 include Accenture, Infineon Technologies, Globalfoundries, ECSEL Joint Undertaking, the Association for European NanoElectronics ActivitieS (AENEAS), Bosch, NXP Semiconductors, and Nokia Bell Labs.
The event will feature an opening networking reception for the opportunity to connect with other executives. At the gala dinner, SEMI will announce the 2019 European Award recognising the individual or team who has made a significant contribution to the European semiconductor industry.
