Visitors and exhibitors will gather at INDEX20 in Geneva from 31st March – 3rd April 2020, to participate in the industry’s largest platform for nonwoven technologies.
Over the course of four days, more than 13,000 visitors and 700 exhibitors representing around 100 countries will gather to meet like-minded professionals as well as take part in industry workshops, seminars, and networking events.
Advances in nonwovens continue to be at the forefront of a cross-section of influential industries including infection prevention, hygiene and cleaning. Innovations in nonwoven materials open new doors for industries looking to improve the accessibility, affordability, and most importantly the efficacy, of their products.
In response to the ever-increasing global demand for sustainability in all facets of manufacturing and development, this year’s visitors to INDEX20 can expect exhibitors to display a broad range of new concepts and applications addressing this key issue. To emphasise the importance of seeking increased recyclability and circularity within the sector, a free seminar dedicated to ‘Sustainability Transition’ will take place on the afternoon of the first day, 31st March, to discuss this cardinal topic and examine a variety of potential solutions.
Pieter Meijer of Queo GmbH, and industry expert, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the Innovation Lab at INDEX20. This new addition to the show will include a number of seminars highlighting the contributions that nonwovens can make to the Healthcare sector. We are also pleased to announce that Prof. Didier Pittet will be the keynote speaker of the Infection Prevention Seminar on Wednesday 1st April. We look forward to hearing his speech.”
Professor Pittet is director of the Infection Control Programme and World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety at the University of Geneva Hospitals and Faculty of Medicine, Geneva. Through the ‘Clean Care is Safer Care Campaign’, his vision is to advance infection prevention and control strategies.
Other activities taking place in the Lab will include exhibits demonstrating the remarkable properties of nonwovens across a wide range of applications, both durable and single-use, and poster presentations on current research. The ‘Smart Nonwovens’ seminar will take a closer look at the new frontiers of these versatile materials. These and many other examples, displays and events will be showcased at INDEX20, once again demonstrating the varied functionality and attributes of nonwovens.
The products and services of the nominees of the prestigious INDEX Innovation Awards will also be on display, with the winners being announced ‘live’ on the opening day of the event.
