Med-Tech Innovation magazine and expo, which were acquired by Rapid News Communications group last year have undergone a re-brand to reflect the investment in both platforms.
The new branding makes use of futuristic fonts and an icon-friendly design, reflecting the high-tech industry Med-Tech Innovation serves.
In addition, the news website www.med-technews.com has been revamped with a cleaner, more contemporary layout and user-friendly navigation.
David Gray, editor for the title said of the new look: “This work reflects our commitment to driving Med-Tech Innovation into the often futuristic world of medical technology. Advances in medtech are gaining rapid pace, particularly in the age of digital health. Our great design team have come up with branding that reflects our enthusiasm for this market.”
Samantha Hamlyn, production manager at Rapid News Communications Group was the creative force behind the new designs. She explained: “The thought process behind the new logo was to create an icon that would be instantly recognisable even when scaled right down for use on social media. We wanted to continue with the original colour scheme of green and blue for consistency however we also wanted a lighter, fresh and more tech look so decided to go with lighter tones of green and blue and introduced a gradient. The font has been changed to an upper-case only design with flat-sided letterforms to continue with the modern ’tech’ feel.”
Content in the magazine, on the website and at the expo will continue to develop with the sector, blending cutting edge approaches to device manufacturing with the latest examples of medtech in use.
There will also be a newly re-vamped website for the Med-Tech Innovation Expo landing later in the year, which will also incorporate the refreshed colours.
Since its acquisition last year, Med-Tech Innovation has joined the ranks of other leading publications in the life science space, such as Digital Health Age, Medical Plastics News and European Pharmaceutical Manufacturer.
Gray added: “We’re really looking forward to seeing how the new look is received by our audience. We think we’ve come up with something that does justice to our vision for Med-Tech Innovation News and Med-Tech Innovation Expo.”
