A medtech firm has won the German Design Award 2019 for the category of medical, rehabilitation and health care for its urological laser for stone lithotripsy.
Dornier MedTech, a subsidiary of Accuron MedTech, has been recognised for its Dornier Medilas H Solvo 35 product, which aims to improve efficiency in the operating room. The laser integrates the company’s advanced mode technology designed to reduce stone movement.
It aims to reduce treatment time by simplifying treatment plans, enable flexible viewing of the treatment process, and improve workplace safety.
Abel Ang, group chief executive officer of Accuron MedTech said: “We are honoured to win this award in recognition of our commitment to innovation and understanding of patient care. Our goal is to design medical devices that not only generate outcomes, but also deliver the care and comfort that patients need during the treatment. Going forward, we will continue our patient-centric approach to transform care delivery and improve urologist and patients experience.”
The German Design Award recognises unique design trends. The ceremony will take place on 8 February 2019 at the Ambiente trade show in Frankfurt.
