The company will be launching its rapid injection mould tooling service, which is designed to help customers bring products to market faster and more efficiently.
The rapid tooling service can cut lead times for injection mould tooling by at least 50%, while increasing design and manufacturing flexibility for products or parts that need to be produced in different variants from a standard tool set.
The rapid tooling service exploits the power of advanced 3D metal hybrid additive manufacturing technology, for the production of custom designed injection mould tool inserts. These can be manufactured quickly to extremely tight tolerances; they can also be designed to incorporate features such as true conformal cooling and gas venting.
The 3D printed inserts can be produced in a range of metals, suitable for high volume injection moulding, and are then combined with standard bolster tool parts to create a complete tool set. A completely new tool set can typically be produced in a few weeks, while new or modified inserts can be manufactured in a few days.
OGM will be exhibiting on stand number F47 in Hall 2. Med-Tech Innovation Expo takes place on 28-29th September at the NEC in Birmingham. Register at med-techexpo.com.
