Through this partnership, XL-PT will develop new relationships with a wider network of medtech clients outside of Europe to promote its capabilities in contract manufacturing of precision medical device components and assemblies.
DSA has commercial engineers serving USA, Mexico, South America, Ireland and Israel to complement the XL-PT facilities at West Chester, PA, USA and at Stockton-on-Tees, UK.
XL-PT has more than 20 years’ experience in supplying the medical device market. In particular, success in endoscopy and laparoscopy will allow them to continue expansion into the robotic surgery market, a market that is estimated to reach $24 billion by 2025. The core capabilities of laser processing (laser cutting of tube and flat parts, laser welding, ablation and etching) and micro-machining (wire and sink-EDM, conventional CNC machining and 3D metal printing) are suited to manufacturing to the quality and precision standards required by the medical device manufacturing sector.
With a Quality Management System certified to ISO 13485, XL-PT works with clients to provide quick-turn prototyping and development services which provides access to the team of experienced manufacturing engineers at the facilities in USA and UK.
Darren Vine, business development director of XL Precision Technologies in the UK said: “DSA is a key player in the industry and XL-PT has grown in the past 5 years to the point where we can service such a strong organisation.”
Barry Schnur, CEO of DSA added: “XL Precision Technologies excels at rapid prototyping complex components which is a huge gap in the industry. Even before announcing our partnership we secured orders for XL’s rapid prototyping capabilities throughout California. The customer response makes clear that we have identified an immensely in-demand offering.”
