Moore International will have a range of Satellite Roller Screws from Swiss manufacturer Rollvis available to see on stand F30 at Med-Tech Innovation Expo this week.
The rigid design of satellite roller screws, also known as planetary roller screws, give them the ability to deliver very heavy load capacity due to the many contact points between the rollers and screw.
Moore International claims that satellite roller screws can be up to 90% efficient and have an expected life up to 15 times longer than any ball screw equivalent.
The firm has teamed up with Rollvis to provide product and selection support in the UK, and says it is able to offer on-site assistance for not only the Rollvis satellite roller screws, but for their full range of linear products.
The Rollvis satellite roller screw range is available is available in sizes from 3.5mm to 210mm in diameter with a 1mm to 50mm lead.
The group explains that the RV satellite roller screw is a high precision and robust assembly where rollers do not recirculate which enables a very stable driving torque, while the RVI inverted satellite roller screw is based on the RV design, but with specific design rules which enable higher capacity ratings with smaller leads.
The RVR satellite roller screw is a design with recirculating rollers. This design combines extremely high positioning accuracy, resolution and stiffness while capacity ratings are at the highest thanks to a robust thread geometry, claims Moore International.
Finally, the RVD design typically offers leads from zero to a few hundredths or tenths of millimetres which gives unparalleled resolution. RVD screws are reserved for short stroke applications.
