Schurter is an innovator and manufacturer of electric and electronic components. The company focuses on safe power supply and easy-to-use equipment. Its product portfolio comprises standard solutions in the fields of circuit protection, plugs and connectors, EMV products, switches, input systems and electronic manufacturing services. Schurter's global network ensures reliable delivery and professional customer service. Where standard products are unsuitable, the company develops client-specific solutions. The Solutions business unit began operations five years ago.
How did it all start?
In May 2014, Schurter Electronics (previously known as Dart Electronics) was acquired by Schurter Holding AG, a global electronic component manufacturer and distributor with the head office based in Switzerland.
Although part of the global group, Schurter Electronics operates solely in the UK & Ireland with the manufacturing & sales office based in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire. Schurter Electronics specialises in human machine Interfaces and industrial graphic products.
In addition, Schurter, a leading innovator in electronic components such as fuses and connectors, merged with Schurter Electronics in January 2019 creating one business operating in the UK.
What’s the business’s main market and focus?
The systems provider business remains a relationship business. Customers are approached pro-actively and once good work has been delivered, there are often follow-up orders and longstanding business relations. Thanks to Schurter’s product portfolio, the benefit for the customer can be increased noticeably. The number of these customers in the Solutions portfolio is increasing.
Success doesn’t just depend on the quality of the product, but the overall package, which can occur at the engineering level. The engineering competences that Schurter can call upon around the world thus lead to highly interesting, cost-effective solutions for the customer.
